Hello Parents,

This note is to inform you of the upcoming Disciple Now Weekend March 12-14, 2010. D-Now is an action packed weekend designed to get students growing in their faith. The theme this year is “Becoming an Eagle” based on Lifeway’s book by the same name. Here’s a synopsis: For quite a few years, many student ministries have adopted a defensive mindset. If we could just keep kids off drugs, out of the back seat, and away from alcohol... but this is no longer enough. Our leadership strategy must be more aggressive than "just say no." Becoming an Eagle was developed to help you grow soaring eagles instead of bobbing pigeons whose only goal in life is to escape the oncoming traffic.

Several churches will be coming together for group sessions at First Baptist, then students will be divided into groups and spend the night at a host home of a family in our church. At the host home, we will have college-aged leaders come and lead Bible studies, and students will be able to build relationships and make memories with their friends. We will meet at church at 6:30 Friday night and be done by 11 AM on Sunday. This has proven to be a favorite activity of our students, I hope that you will consider letting yours attend.
